Over the last week since their second quarter profits were announced, I've watched MediaRing's stock climb to a 1-yr high of 19.5 cents.
I remember MediaRing well. Back when I was in college, it was one of the first companies in the world to launch VoIP software for long-distance calling. It was also a Singaporean company and it made me swell with pride, even as I was saving money on long-distance calls.
After many troubled years, it's finally turned a profit. So I'd say if you're holding the stock, you better sell out now because Google just muscled into the VoIP market and the competition just got a whole lot stiffer. Or you can wait until Google buys Skype; that will definitely be the killer app.
I hope Google never decides to go into soundcards.
