censoring taxis

I just love this.

"We realised that we must take action against the even more acerbic, and occasionally elegant and literary, polemic espoused by Singaporean Taxi Drivers. They are entitled to their views, even if they live in Hougang or Potong Pasir. But opinions that ungrammatically begin with 'but' aside, their comments that are widely circulated to all Singaporeans and even foreign talent and tourists should meet higher standards. Instead of diatribe they should offer constructive criticism and alternatives, thus inculcating a culture of helpful praise that will allow the government to continue its progressing knowing the areas it has been most correct. These areas will be repeatedly emphasised. (The Kentang)

I always did love talking to taxi drivers. Before the internet, they are the true alternative media. And they are often much closer to the pulse of your lay Singaporean than your typical journalist. Clearly we should censor them next.
